SMUT president
Kenneth Corley. chairman of Joseph Lucas Industries, has been elected president of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. Mr Corley has been vice-president for three years. The retiring president, Douglas Richards, chairman of Zenith Carburetter, was elected deputy president. Mr Corley's place as vice-president, is taken. by Ronald Ellis, managing director of BLMC's truck and bus division. Gilbert Hunt, managing director of Chrysler UK, becomes vice-president of the Society. and William Batty, Ford's managing director, has been elected for a further term as vice-president. L. Breeden, joint managing director of Wilmot Breeden, remains treasurer, and Sir George Farmer, chairman of Rover, has been reappointed chairman of the SMMT executive committee.
