• So far 125 students have enrolled for the Certificate of Transport which is sanctioned by the Chartered Institute of Transport.
The qualification was introduced last year and gives exemption from the Certificate of Professional Competence. The Certificate of Transport also gives grounding in road transport management skills.
Although 100 students have carried out the course work so far this year, only 42 have sat the exams. Last year there were 25 students on the certificate's pilot course.
0 A survey carried out by the Chartered Institute of Transport shows that 57% of the respondents prefer to undertake training in house. The 100 companies replying to the survey are especially interested in road/rail transport training and environmental issues, as well as more general road transport training.
