• I am preparing a report on the difference between British and continental police forces' interpretation of tachograph and hours rules.
I am particularly interested in the continental practice of using tachograph evidence to prosecute for speeding.
To assist me could I ask your readers to send me details of incidents where they have been prosecuted on the Continent.
It would help if they could let me know whether they were stopped in a road check or were in a lorry park; whether they were dealt with by police or another enforcement agency; the location and direction of travel and whether laden or not; the make and size of vehicle; what offence was alleged and whether a fine was imposed; how they felt about the treatment they received.
If possible, send a copy of any paperwork issued by the enforcement agency.
All information will be treated in confidence but a telephone number would assist so I can ask any further details that may be necessary, should your readers not wish to send an address. They can write to me at the address below or fax the information to me on 081-577 4447.
