Truck and van dealer Greenhous Group acquires the Volkswagen CV franchise in Shrewsbury and has plans to build a vehicle test bay...
Words: Kam Swallow THE VOLKSWAGEN CV franchise in Shrewsbury has been taken over by truck and van dealer Greenhous Group, which plans to create more jobs and make an investment in a vehicle testing bay.
Greenhous already has DAF, LDV, Peugeot, and Vauxhall franchises. Ray Coates, brand manager at the Shrewsbury site, says Greenhous was able to keep the 12-strong workforce, after the previous company went into administration, and is looking to employ six more people — mainly technicians, sales and aftermarket staff.
The company will also invest more than £15,000 on adding a vehicle testing bay to the site, which will sell new vans, lifestyle vehicles and approved used vehicles, "Greenhous is in a strong position to move the business forward because of the relationships we have spent years nurturing with our retail and fleet customers. We endeavour always to put customer service at the top of our list of priorities," Coates says.
He also strongly believes that the Volkswagen brand is an opportunity for the group to open up to new customers. "It adds quality to the table; Volkswagen has a loyal following." N
