A NEW recovery service designed to help the owner driver was launched this week. It aims to help the driver who breaks down on the British mainland — whatever help is needed.
Every user of the Truck Aid service will have a telephone number to ring in the event of a breakdown.
Aid in the form of anything from a replacement vehicle to a new windscreen will then be sent to him. The service will also inform employers and wives of the trouble — if the driver wants it done.
Truck Aid subscription is £7.50 a year and is open to both owner drivers and companies with a fleet that they wish to protect.
And there will be a by-product of the service. Truck Aid aims to build up a computer controlled fault analysis system for vehicle manufacturers.
The address of the new service is Truck Aid, Unit 10, Trumpers Way, Hanwell, London W7 2QA.
