Temperature-sensing probes for use with portable electronic thermometers have been introduced by Polkinghorne Industries, The probes are all interchangeable; the WR41 is a flexible probe, designed to measure oil-sump temperature; the WR40 has a hooked end for use where access is difficult: and the VVR30 is a magnetic surface probe for cylinder block temperature measurement, for instance.
A needle probe, the WR50, is used for checking tyre tempt atures while exhaust manifc and bearing housing tem eratures can be monitored wi the WR890 surface probe.
These probes are used in co junction with the Model 520 ai Model 510 electronic therm meters; the former recor temperatures up to 600deg C six bands of 100deg C, while t latter reads from minus 100d C to plus 300deg C in four banc An accuracy of plus or min 1deg is claimed.
