Scottish Deputy IC Richard McFarlane has revoked the licence held by Avonbridge-based T&J Wilson (Hauliers) and disqualified the firm's partners, Jean and Thomas Wilson, from hold ing or obtaining an 0-licence for 12 months.
The firm held a licence for three vehicles and three trail ers. They had been called before McFarlane at an Edinburgh disciplinary Inquiry following a series of convictions for tachograph offences and concern about their Financial standing. McFarlane had agreed to adjourn the proceedings for 10 days so the partners could produce financial evidence. When the hearing resumed McFarlane said a letter had been received from the firm's solicitors stating that the partners wished to surrender their licence.
Revoking the licence with immediate effect, and disqualifying the partners, the Deputy TO said he was not prepared to accept the surrender of the licence and considered the partners no longer met the requirements to be of good repute and appropriate financial standing.
