Defending Hauliers' Rights.
..A warning to operators was sounded by Mr. J. L. Kinder, when he spoke at A.R.0: meetings in Bolton, Ashtonunder-Lyne and Chapel-en-le-Frith, last week. His opinion was that the next year or 18 months would be more vital to the. industry than any period during the past few years. From discussions at the various meetings it appeared that the feeling was that if renewed attacks were to be made on the legitimate haulage contractor, then the time was opportune for all A and B li-cence holders to link together under one association.
An important operator from Derbyshire said that he was sure that the majority of haulier members would be prepared to pay double their present subscriptions if this could be accomplished. Explanations of the working of the A.R.O. insurance scheme were given by Mr. E. Nugent Linaker.
