• D&L Tarmac, of Tylorstown appeared at a Cardiff public inquiry over maintenance problems and convictions for using vehicles for hire or reward under a restricted licence.
The firm was seeking the renewal of its 25-vehicle licence before South Wales Deputy Traffic Commissioner Gerrard Sullivan.
Partner Terrance Lewis said the company was currently operating 18 vehicles on contracts with the Water Board and British Gas. They could require extra vehicles at any time.
The problems in the past had been due to inexperience and conflicting advice whether the firm required an operator's licence or not. "I never stop learning and I have benefited From it," he said.
Sullivan renewed the licence for the full five years.
