DHL uses Mobiliarbus spell to deliver Potter film
REELS OF Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I were not 'apparatecr to the nation's cinemas, nor were they delivered by Too power' or by broomstick. rather Di-IL's specialist cinema division took 48 hours to carry the film to 550 screens across the UK.
The delivery was the largest distribution for DHE's cinema division and saw more than 100 couriers in lorries, vans, I planes and even ferries take 26 tonnes of film to cinemas,
David Turner, film print manager at E studio Warner Brothers, says that with
the rise of illegal copying and file-sharing, one of its biggest concerns was ensuring the distribution of the film reels remained under high security.
"DHL has a vast global network." he says. "Our films can stay within that network, no matter where they need to be shipped, and are subject to the same strict security procedures throughout the entirety of their journey."
And it looks like DHL's hard work has paid off, as the penultimate instalment of the Potter franchise broke UK box office records last weekend.
