We like
The 4165s stress-free start-up and effortless gear-changing, as well as low-speed control and manoeuvring are very impressive. Power from the most powerful V8 engine is perfectly managed via the turbo coupling to ensure the dry plate clutch is protected at all times.
We're not sure
STGO drivers sceptical of an auto box in a 250-tonner will need to experience the turbo coupling in order to appreciate its merits — and they'll require proper training to use its full potential. The current 0M502LA V8 will also be replaced by Moro's HDEP in-line six engine range for Euro-6.

The joint MercedesNoith turbo coupling has opened up new vistas for ultra-heavy haulage operators and especially drivers. The drivellnepreserving benefits of Merc's PowerShift auto are now available for GCW operations at 250 tonnes.
