BUILDING UP BUSINESS in the CV market is one of the biggest reasons for attending the Commercial Vehicle Show, and that is precisely why Hampshirebased firm Liftmaster will be there next year.
Liftmaster, formerly known as Ranger Products, has been making workshop and test equipment for years, but has recently started targeting the commercial vehicle sector more vigorously.
Commercial equipment manager Kevin Howard, taken on by the Alton firm in order to develop that section of its business, says that it attended the last show and was very pleased with the result.
He says: "We don't necessarily measure its success in immediate sales, but it allows us to meet potential new customers and to see existing ones face-to-face."
Liftmaster, which makes vehicle lifting equipment as well as testing equipment including brake and headlight testers. formerly concentrated on cars and light commercials but has now moved into the truck and bus market.
Howard says: "Some hauliers subcontract this sort of thing, but others run their own workshops and we supply to many of those."
The CV Show is being held at the Birmingham NEC from 12-14 April 2011.
