NRecovery equipment manufacturer Brimec says it has come up with a way for breakdown operators to avoid damaging the front of low-slung cars when lifting them.
It has patented a fiat, singleram wheel lift system. Pete Spacagna of Southampton has taken delivery and Brimec's Richard Roller is confident of sales to the big motoring associations.
With conventional wheel lifts the main beam pivots through a shallow arc as it swings down, and slopes at its lowest point. Brimec's system, holds 1.6 tonnes and costs £4, 390 installed.
