4, German firm Eberspacher was set up in the thirties to make air-to-air heat exchangers, followed by hot water heaters. Twenty years on came the first diesel burning auxiliary heater, joined in
the mid-sixties by a petrol version. •
The company also made the notorious muffler heating systems for air-cooled VW Beetle and Variant cars, and in 1975 Eberspadier launched its famed BiL petrol heater with radio controls. A year later it made the Di L (diesel) variety.
Its main product range still covers petrol and diesel-fuelled heaters; most recently the Airtronic range and Hydronic water heaters for PCVs and specialist transporters.
Other recent launches indude the Handiwash 12/24V hot or cold hand-wash unit; it markets Diavia Frigosoft chiller units and air conditioning systems.
To date, Eberspacher has sold more than 75o,000 cab heaters.
