RENAULT'S PARTNERSHIP with Nissan continues to bear fruit with the launch of the new Maxity at the NEC. On the stand are Maxitys in several guises, but taking centre stage is the Euro-4 (EGR) version of the Nissan-built 2.5-litre DXi 110,35 with factory-built dropside body and three-seater day cab.
This means the French company is able to offer both FOR and SCR vehicles at the lower end of its weight categories along with the Master, Mascott and Midlum models.
Through Nissan, Renault also offers the 3.0-litre DXi as an alternative driveline with power ratings of 110, 130 and 150hp. Options include two transmissions; it comes with a threeyear/60,000-mile warranty.
While things look a little crowded for Renault in the 3.5-tonne market, the forward-control design means it can offer better payload potential of 1,820kg for operators which are keen on a chassis-cab option.
