BRITAIN'S BEST-SELLING trailer manufacturer, Schmitz Cargobull, is expanding its portfolio by moving into the The firm is best known for its box and sliding-floor market. curtainsider trailers—its version of the moving floor trailer is now on offer through Allan Bradshaw, who was formerly with movingfloor trailer manufacturer Knappen. He has already sold 22 examples in the UK, even though the show exhibit is the first to arrive in the country. The benefits, Bradshaw claims, are that Schmitz Cargobull can build the entire trailer at its factory in Germany rather than buying in parts and equipment, and can deliver in six weeks. Operators have the choice of 6mm or lOmm floors and a range of heights; he adds that Schmitz Cargobull is flexible enough to build to any operator's requirements. The trailer in the CV Show outdoor display area has aluminium sidewalls and tarpaulin roof. It weighs in at 7.5 tonnes on a steel chassis. Schmitz Cargobull plans to build more than 700 in its first year and double production in 12 months.The trailer has a 100m' capacity— operatives can use either a control pad at the rear door or a hand-held remote.
