DAVID BARDSLEY and Son was called in to help rescue the Dutch artic which plunged into Manchester Ship Canal last week (CA419 April). The Volvo tractor unit was partly above the surface but its full tanker trailer was completely submerged. Bardsleys supplied two recovery vehicles with heavy winches to stabilise and secure the trailer while the tractor unit was lifted by crane onto the dockside; the trailer was then lifted by Ainscough.
