THE STEED, from Chinese manufacturer Great Wall, made its UK show debut in Birmingham.
Great Wall is offering a value-formoney alternative to competitors in the pickup market with its £13,998 starting price. Available as double-cab 4x4 only, Great Wall offers two trim levels for the Steed, S and SE. Both offer a 1,050kg payload and towing capacity of two tonnes, and are powered by a 2-litre 141hp engine with a variable geometry turbocharger.
The Steed is claimed to deliver 34mpg and emit 220g/km of CO2. Basic S models come with heated leather seats, Bluetooth, air conditioning and alloy wheels as standard.
