Out of receivership
West Yorkshire-based multi-deck trailer manufacturer Wilson TS has been bought out of receivership by the previous owner's son, Graham Wilson.
The company, originally owned by Ken Wilson, faced legal action after quality problems with one of its component suppliers and was advised by lawyers to go into liquidation.
Wilson explains the company's predicament: "We decided to market another manufacturer's axle as part of an upgrade package but quality problems arose with it and the associated components. The supplier then shut down and we faced potential bankruptcy as legal responsibility for any faults was passed to ourselves. Our only option was to go into receivership."
He believes the move will give the firm, which employs 40 people, a fresh start: Our first task will be to stabilise production and concentrate on the quality of the product. We have recently secured a 10-trailer order from Hill Hire and will be looking to build on that."
