PORTSMOUTH-BASED Fraser Freight has broken its tradition of only buying DAF trucks following the addition of two new MANs to its 15-strong fleet. The new 4x2 TGX 18.440s are the first MANs in the European express specialist's fleet and will be tasked with general haulage operations to mainland Europe.
Ross Fraser, MD of Fraser Freight, says: "As our trucks spend 90% of their working lives in Europe, we always buy them in lefthand drive and the new MANs are no different. Business has
increased since the purchase.
"We purchase our vehicles outright and run them for three years maximum; the reason being that we like to run the latest up-to-date trucks, and also with the mileage they do, roughly 100,000 miles a year, it doesn't pay to keep them for any longer than that."
