TO CUT out the need for operators to stock a multitude of different wiper arms and blades to suit differing vehicles, Tex has introduced its Interchange wiper system. Based on a modular principle, it consists of 11 basic arm components used in conjuction with seven blade types. Together with the Tex Universal range, blade sizes from 27.9 to 71cm (11 to 28ins) are now possible and, says Tex, over 90 per cent of goods vehicles from light vans to 38tonners can be catered for. Tex claims that stockholding is reduced by its Interchange system and that the three digit part number system means ordering errors are eliminated.
The system works as follows: there are two types of adjustable arm holder, with an 18mm (0.70in) taper head fixing the other with an 8-10DIN taper head fixing. Five arm extensions covering left or right hand cranks, on adjustable crank type with 9mm or 13.6mm (0.35 or .0.53in) bridge, bayonet or hook type fixings, slot into these and are located by grub screws. There are four complete arms from 41.2 to 48.3mm (16.25 to 191n) long with either of the two standard type heads with straight, cranked or adjustable extensions and swivel hook or fixed bridge clips.
There is an application chart for operators and Tex says the Interchange component parts are competitively priced. Texparts, Witney Trading Estate, Station Lane, Witney, Oxon 0X8 6YD. Telephone 0993 74101
