Of you were to visit the Hawk at home you would discover that the floral arrangements which adorn his cosy habitat are of the plastic variety. This is not to say that he doesn't appreciate the real thing when he sees it. So respect (it's a modern term; one has to keep up) to Alan Brown pictured here with his prize-winning chrysanthemum blooms. Alan is a retired truck driver who worked for BA at Gatwick. lie has been a member of the Sussex Dahlia and Chrysanthemum society for over 30 years and has now been invited to become president. Ah, the sweet smell of success.
