Draffic bollards that rise out of the ground as if by magic sound the stuff of drivers' nightmares.
However, BPT Automation, the Hertfordshire manufacturer of the product (optimistically named Europost), assures CM that the bollards only rise when activated by vehicle sensing loops on either side. Furthermore, pressure control is provided to prevent the bollards rising when stood on by a pedestrian. We can all breathe a sign of relief knowing that. As Corporal Jones in Dad's Army put it: "They don't like it up 'em, Captain!"
