Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

the Bedford Midi and Rascal vans has meant a successful spin-off for Brockhouse Harvey Frost, the Bishop's Stortford-based manufacturer of garage and lifting equipment, marketed under the HE Epco trademark.

In conjunction with Bedford, Harvey Frost has designed and manufactured a special device to enable the engine/transmission assembly of both Midi and Rascal vans to be removed easily and safely by one man.

The adaptor, available for use when the van is either on a lift or over a pit, is fitted to the HE Epco V2000 two-stage Vertilift transmission jack in place of the standard head fittings. It cradles the engine/transmission assembly and incorporates a jacking device which enables the assem bly to be tilted as it is lowered — in the case of the Bedford Midivan — which is necessary to enable the fan to clear the radiator cowl and the engine to clear crossmembers.

A second adaptor fits in place of the grip plates (supplied as standard with the V2000) and safely holds the engine/transmission assembly of the Bedford Rascal van.

The development of adaptors for use with existing HF Epco V2000 Vertilifts offers cost savings for workshops already owning such equipment. However, those who need to purchase the necessary equipment to work on Bedford's new range of vans will also be able to use it to work on many other commercial vehicle gearboxes.
