Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE ABILITY to replace a punctured or damaged tyre is of increasing importance to transport managers and independent hauliers, according to Norbar Torque Tools.

By using the Norbar torque multiplier, most problems with stubborn nuts and bolts can be overcome quickly and simply, it is claimed. The Norbar Highwayman 5:1 torque multiplier forms a small compact gear unit for tightening and slackening nuts and bolts from three quarters of an inch to one and a quarter inches, fitting in between a hexagon socket and a rachet lever or spanner. With the reaction foot resting against an adjacent wheel nut, the operator has the effective leverage of a spanner five times the length of his standard nut wrench, says Norbar.

The multiplier eliminates the dangerous practice of adding lengths of tube to a conventional spanner to obtain extra leverage, and the ease of operation also encourages the driver to undertake the wheel replacement himself — saving time and money, it is claimed.

The Highwayman kit costs £146, carrying case included. Norbar Torque Tools Ltd, Swan Close, Banbury Oxfordshire 0X16 8AJ. Tel: 0295 4234.
