• The first ERF tractive unit equipped with a factory-fitted mid lift axle has gone into service with Highway Truck Rental of Newcastle upon Tyne.
ERF's own two-bag air suspended single tyred axle, which adds 870kg to the unladen weight of 3.8m-wheelbase E10, E12 and E14 tractive units, is supplied through the company's SVO department. It increases the maximum operational weight by six tonnes to 23 tonnes. This offers increased load compatibility without unnecessary tyre wear when running unladen.
ERF treats it as an individual model and prices it at about £6,500 over the list price of the 4x2 version.
