+ At Eurotruck for 14 years, and latterly at Manchester Truck & Bus, Glyn Parker has become managing director of Volvo distributor Darlington Commercials. It has sites at Darlington, Washington in Tyne & Wear, and Bedlington in Northumbria, with more than 120 employees.
Parker is a Wearsider but has worked outside the North-East since the early seventies. He's come back to discover there have been a number of major changes to the local truck market in recent years.

However, there has been lots of inward investment, and distribution companies are much more active." The result of this should be increased demand for tractive units. Parker agrees that when it comes to new trucks it's still a buyer's market, but he believes prices may be hardening.
