• The 60 employees of Warrington-based High Row Haulage made redundant after it went into receivership on 29 January have had their job hopes dashed. Receiver Coopers Lybrand says that no buyer for the operation has been found and it will close down immediately. The business went under with debts of more than £100,000. The collapse, says Coopers Lybrand, was due to a series of monthly losses, but there was no single major factor behind these losses.
A creditors' meeting will be held at the end of April; less than half of the company's 55 tractors will be sold. High Row Haulage, which distributed mainly food and building materials, also had a storage operation, High Row Storage, which did not go under and is still trading.
