• Heavy haulage specialist Hallett Silbermann has sold its Yorkshire depot and formed a trading partnership with buyer Vanguard Vehicle Haulage.
Hallett managing director David Silbermann says the move, which takes effect this week, will create a combined turnover of £6.3m a year.
"Vanguard has bought control of the depot, customer base and the trading name of Hallett Silbermann—Yorkshire," says David Silbermann. Hallett is part of the Brent group and will continue to operate using its own name from its Birmingham and Hatfield depots.
The company specialises in loads up to 80 tonnes and much of Vanguard's business is at the heaviest end of the scale.
We will pass on business leads and agree to share services like bunkering and return loading where possible," says Silbermann. About five jobs will be lost in the changeover.
