• Exel Logistics hopes to win an out-of-court settlement from the receiver of Clarke Foods for a distribution bill worth nearly £700,000 which has not been paid by the icecream maker.
The receiver called off its action against Exel last week after the icecream manufacturer was bought by Nestle. A High Court hearing had been due on 17 November. Exel says it will hold on to nearly £700,000 worth of icecream until the receiver, which remains responsible for Clarke Foods' debts, settles the bill.
