Transcarry UK wanted to increase its licence from two vehicles and four trailers to four vehicles and five trailers with an additional operating centre at Bootle. Vehicle examiner Alan Barnes said a colleague checked two vehicles and two trailers in August, imposing three immediate prohibitions. Inspection records were incomplete. Director Anthony Harrison said they realised there had been a shortfall in their maintenance system and they immediately signed a contract with the Freight Transport Association to carry out inspections. He disagreed with the vehicle examiner's opinion that the facilities were inadequate.
