Brown adds. "We were soon converted to Cummins and have stuck with them ever since. The B DR fleet of zo trucks are mainly Scania which we have decided not to change, but here we benefit from a much stronger ERE dealership. KL Commercials of Southampton is one of the main reasons we have ERFs. We've built up a good relationship with them over the years. The backup is good, parts are delivered overnight and there is always someone at the end of the phone line to help solve any problems.

"The latest batch are standard sleeper 6x2 lights with the five-tonne second axle," he says. As you expect we had one or two teething troubles but we have had no major problems with the ECri—it's a good workhorse. The CUMITliTIS engine is good for 5oo,000 miles and more. It just keeps on going. There isn't anything more reliable than the Cummins/Eaton/ Rockwell drivel ine and the trucks are not complicated to maintain."
