• The application by Mr. R. Watson of Selby, to add a 7!_ton artic. to his B licence, was refused in Leeds on Monday. The case was heard by the Yorkshire LA, Maj.-Gen. Sir John Potter. An objection was entered by the NFC in respect of BRS Ltd.
Mr. Watson said he wanted the additional vehicle for the delivery and collection of goods in connection with his long-distance haulage work. At present A licensed vehicles were employed in this work but he would rather use them solely on long-distance hauls.
Mr. J. W. Bosomworth, for BRS, said the applicant did not have any witnesses and had not produced any figures. In addition the applicant's business was not sufficiently concerned with long-distance haulage to warrant a delivery vehicle.
