• Michael Jackson, trading as MJ Transport, of Middleton, North Manchester, and four of his drivers were fined £2,280 for drivers' hours and tachograph offences before Heywood magistrates.
Jackson pleaded guilty to seven offences of failing to ensure drivers returned tachograph charts within 21 days; six of permitting drivers to exceed the daily driving limit; five of permitting drivers to exceed 41 hours without the required break; and one of permitting a driver to take insufficient daily rest. Jackson was fined £950 with £150 prosecution costs.
Driver Stuart Hunter, of Cyprus Crescent, Mirfield, admitted three daily driving offences and five charges of exceeding 4i hours driving. He was fined £240 with £25 costs.
Steven Hunt, of Browning Road, Middleton, admitted two daily driving offences, five 4hour offences and one daily-rest offence. He was fined £320 with £25 costs.
Steven Barlow, of Cardiff Close, Hollingwood, admitted two daily-driving offences and four 41-hour offences. He was fined £200 with £25 costs.
Roy Ratcliffe, of Guildford Road, Barshaw, Middleton, admitted two offences of falsifying tachograph charts, two dailydriving offences and three 4hour offences. He was fined £320 with £25 costs.
