• The Bus & Coach Council unveiled its manifesto, Putting Passengers First, this week in a bid to keep 78% of public transport passenger journeys on buses and coaches.
Recommendations include increasing capital allowances to help operators buy new vehicles; allowing coaches to use all-bus priority lanes; and giving Traffic Commissioners more powers to enforce higher industry entry standards. It also suggests setting up area transport boards.
