• More than 200 jobs with magazine distribution specialist Mortimer Group have been saved following Exel Logistics' plan to buy the majority of the company from administrators.
Two of the group's original six companies, put into administration last July, have been sold.
Exel has taken over the magazine distribution side of the business, which accounts for around 100 drivers' jobs. and Mediaforce has taken over the smaller general transport division.
Mortimer, which was iet up in 1964, ran 110 vehicles distributing magazines, including Commercial Motor, out of its Milton Keynes depot. It had an annual turnover of ,El2m.
Exel promises there will be no job losses.
