THE LABOUR Party this week published its Charter for Transport, in which it called for adequate financing of public transport, coupled with a proper licensing system for bus services.
The Charter was launched by Shadow Transport Secretary Gwyneth Dunwoody, as part of Labour's county council election campaign.
The document warns that although bus services are in decline, worse is to come with subsidies being cut by one third this year coupled with a 20 per cent cut in concessionary fares.
