HAULAGE employers intend to push hard next year for a cut in the levy paid to the Road Transport Industry Training Board.
The Road Haulage Association has lost its bid this year to cut the 0.8 of one per cent levy paid to the RTITB, and a board meeting last week voted to keep the levy at its present rate and raise £22m for training grants.
The payment of levy in haulage and furniture removals will apply to all companies with total emoluments over £24,500 in 1985/86.
An RHA spokesman said he was disappointed that the levy had not been cut, but gave notice that its representatives would press very hard for a cut in 1986/87.
