Hino targets ex-Foden customers

JAPANESE TRUCK manufacturer Hino is making its UK intentions clear at the CV Show by unveiling a full range of rigids and tractors.
The company has been recruiting ex-Foden dealers to its network. Eight are in the process of signing up and the range of products on show 6x4 tractor. 4x2 tractor and 8x4 rigid indicate that Foden customers are firmly in Hino's sights.
As well as the all-new 700 Series, Hino is taking the wraps off its Euro-4 13-litre E13C engine. This takes the EGR route to meeting the new emissions regs, along with highpressure common-rail injection technology and a variablegeometry turbocharger.
As well as a stand in Hall 5, Hino has also invested in an outdoor display with 10 operator-liveried vehicles lined up on the approaches to the exhibition.
• At previous shows the Foden stand was traditionally one of the busiest, but following Paccar's decision to -retire" the brand. Foden is notable by its absence. Fellow 'UK marque ERF soldiers on, however; parent company MAN has included a tankerspecced ERF-badged tractor in its line-up.
