VICKERS has issued a statem on speculation over a possi take-over deal of its Rolls-Ro' diesel engine business Shrewsbury.
Recent reports have st gested American interest in Shrewsbury factory, but man ing director Peter Vinson has nied any takeover or partners prospects being in the pipelin Vickers, prompted by 1 speculation, said over the p two years discussions had bi held with several manufactur in an effort to secure the lo term future of the business.
"Contrary to speculation, tails concerning the diesel IT ness have not been circula within the mechanical, electr and engineering industry.
"However, several compar have approached Vicki directly expressing an intere. said Mr Vinson.
