• Tesco Distribution has won authority to base 102 vehicles and 295 trailers at Bletchley, despite opposition from residents. Eastern DTC Brian Horner decided not to impose environmental conditions because the objections related to planning matters were outside his jurisdiction.
One-month suspension
• Maintenance problems resulted in North Eastern TC Keith Waterworth handing out a one-month suspension for two vehicles on the licence held by B Taylor & Sons Transport, of Kirkby-in-Ashfield. The company can operate 40 vehicles.
Tachograph defect • Loughborough haulier F Sherwood & Sons (Transport) was given a conditional discharge for using a vehicle with a defective tachograph. Derby magistrates were told that it had become defective during the vehicle's journey.
Fleet cut ordered
• Scottish TC Michael Betts has reduced the licence held by Aberhill Metals, of Methill, Fife, from 13 vehicles and five trailers to 10 vehicles after concerns about its maintenance record.
Two-week ban
• Three vehicles have a two• week suspension from the licence held by Glasgow-based Agricycle because of maintenance problems. The company appeared before Scottish TC Michael Betts.
