• Citroen launched a refrigerated conversion of the Berlingo van at the SMMT CV and Bodywork Show this week
Carried out by Klege Europ, the conversion uses a modular, watertight, insulated shell offering 19rn3 of load volume. It can be removed from the van as a unit in case of accident damage.
A new Thermo King refrigeration unit is housed in a streamlined, low-profile overcab pod.
According to Alan Lines of Klege Europ, the Berlingo's electrical system has been upgraded using heavier duty Citroen components—all parts are still covered by the Citroen warranty.
Two conversions are available. ATP class A, certified for chilled operation at +4°C, costs 44,500 (ex-VAT); for temperatures down to –25°C, the ATP class C certified conversion costs £4,625 (ex-VAT).
The price includes fridge unit, insulation, fitting and commissioning. The conversion will be available from all Citroen light commercial dealers.
