• Three British lorries—two belonging to UK haulier Weetwood and one to Ralph Davies International—were confiscated on the Turkish border last November and the drivers arrested. The alleged offence was that an export fraud had been committed because boxes of shirts were found not to be full. Turkish customs allege this was an attempt by the exporter to qualify for greater export incentives from the Turkish Government, Since then the trucks have been impounded under Turkish law and Ralph Davies has had to put up a bank guarantee of 2131,000 against the eventual release of the trucks.
