Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service has taken delivery of a Tata Loadbeta. The 2.0 TDi 4x4 was chosen for rescue missions in all conditions, including severe flooding such as Warwickshire experienced in 1998.
Warwickshire Fire transport manager Rob Maggs says that after looking at more expensive competitors, "none offered the Tata's off-road ability, and in particular its waterwading capability'. Other deciding factors were the large ['ear doors helping the vehicle's ability to accommodate five fire-fighters, and the 211,357 (ex-VAT) price.
