SOUTHAMPTON-BASED Meachers Group has launched a new consultancy and shipping service for manufacturing companies looking to relocate to China.
Commercial manager Gary Whittle says the company has formed a partnership with a Chinese organisation. "We're basically offering a consultancy service to companies that are going outside the UK.
"We've set up a structure where we identify UK manufacturers producing products nthe UK that are looking to outsource that production to China or the Far East and don't really know how to do it," he says.
'If you're making widgets in the middle of Birmingham, how do you identify a manufacturer in Beijing that will do what you do and find out what the rates are?"
