Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I NCORPORATING a Ford 10 b.p. industrial engine, the new range of Aerolift fork-lift trucks includes models of from 10-cwt. to 1-ton capacity. Lifting is performed hydraulically, a vertical lift

of 10 ft. taking 20 secs. The extent of the forward tilt is degrees, and of the backward tilt 7 degrees.

The control valve is designed so that only one lever is required for the dual operation of lifting and tilting. From the engine the drive is taken through a single-plate clutch to a gearbox, the ratios in which provide for a forward speed of 7 m.p.h. and 6 m.p.h. in reverse.

The truck has an all-welded chassis built up mainly from 1-in. steel plate, which imparts to it a degree of strength and rigidity which should make for a long life under conditions of the hardest usage. Steering is through the rear wheels, an arrangement which greatly increases manceuvrability. By providing for the front wheels to be reversible on their hubs, it is possible to increase the track and so provide a measure of increased stability. Where soft or rough ground has to be negotiated, twin front wheels can be fitted. Either pneumatics or solid tyres of deep section can be supplied according to requirements.

Lockheed 10-in, by lt-in. internal-expanding hydraulic brakes are fitted as standard, the hand brake being directly linked to the hydraulic controls. One of the outstanding features of this range of trucks is the ease with which access can be gained to all the main components. The maker is .clifford Aero and Auto, Ltd, 11.4elr Airport, Longion, Staffs, and the sole distributor is (T.D., Stacatruc Houk, 142, Sloane Street, London, S.W.1.
