Aspray 24 Launches freight forwarding

ASPRAY 24 HAS launched a tre[ght forwarding division, which the Coventrybased overnight specialist hopes will diversify its business and bolster turnover.

The firm has been piloting the new service, called Aspray International, for several months with existing clients However, the business, including the IT and track-and-trace capability will go live. MD Stuart Laight says, "Our customers are primarily UK component manufacturers, who regularly export internationally.

"They have been telling us for some time they want a more personal approach to keep track of Continental deliveries, so we decided to manage them for our customers

Laight says the business has achieved turnover of approximately £15,000 a month since the pilot started at the beginning of the year: "I think we could see turnover increase by millions over the next few years from this new service," he adds.

Aspray Transport unveiled its new trading name, Aspray 24, earlier this month (CM 6 May). The company is in year one of its fiveyear plan to grow turnover to approximately 2.40m. Revenue for the 12 months to 31 December is expected to reach £27m
