Although this first trailer has cost a small fortune to develop, Rowlands believes that ultimately, longer semi-trailers will cost about 25% more than the regular ones already on the market.
However, he warns that with such small volumes at present, it’s going to be very difficult for trailer makers to keep the prices affordable.
He says if hundreds of operators are all granted permission to run one trailer, then potentially every one could have a slightly different spec, and that approach clearly isn’t conducive with low prices.
