• Three of the UK's largest regional independent courier firms — United Parcel Services (Midlands) of Leicester, Esher Park Deliveries of Slough and Blue Line Services of Glasgow — have amalgamated to form a new parcels distribution company.

The new firm — United Parcel Services (Holdings) — will have its head office in the Midlands and nine distribution depots throughout the UK served by more than 80 vehicles.
