MAN chief executive Des Evans attributes the marques 36% improvement in market share to the availability of an EGR Euro-4 option and an improving dealer network. Asked about plans for a Euro-5 EGR engine in 2009 Evans says: "What is the best technology from a residual value perspective? How well will five or six-year-old SCR-equipped tractor units sell in the UK?"
MAN is forecasting sales of more than 3,000 TGXJTG S trucks in the UK next year. It has already received 1,000 orders for the new fine-up, which was launched in the UK this week.
